Energy Mapping and Socio-Economic Impact Assessment of Access to Electricity in villages of Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral
A community focused broad geographical coverage mapping of micro hydro power and solar systems in 50+ districts of Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral covering energy demand assessment and discussions with social organizations.
The project involved a comprehensive data validation analysis and impact study, including an energy demand assessment survey and a socio-economic impact study for Micro-Hydro Power (MHP) and Solar system beneficiaries. It covered over 50 + districts of Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral, from the Chogrong villages near the Siachen Glacier to Brisil (Olding) near the Kargil border and the Immit Valley close to the Wakhan border strip and so on.
The mapping exercise ensured broad geographical coverage through meticulous trail checking and spot verification. The mapping process included trail checking and spot verification etc to ensure a comprehensive geographical spread. Social organizations were actively engaged in discussions and data collection in Chitral.
