The feasibility study was carried out for a credit facility, a guaranteed scheme, and technical assistance for the financing of clean energy projects through local FIs in Pakistan.
The project focused on financing and deploying clean and renewable energy solutions that should accrue benefits not only to the environment and the health of the population, but also lead to improved financial and economic outcomes, including a meaningful contribution to addressing Pakistan’s overall energy production needs, as well as closing the energy access gap for poor and low-income communities, and SMEs.
Core institutional partners for AFD were SBP, PMIC, and PPAF, alongside key Government ministries, such as Finance and Energy, as well as an array of banks and other financial intermediaries.
