Framework for analyzing probability of success of SEZs under CPEC: Focus on KP and GB
Our project analyzed success probabilities for Rashakai and Moqpondass SEZs under CPEC, emphasizing governance’s role in SEZ success. This framework provides a method to assess success based on factor presence and intensity.
Our project focused on analyzing the probability of success for two Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), namely Rashakai Economic Zone and Moqpondass Special Economic Zone. Through a comprehensive framework, we assessed various factors influencing the success of these SEZs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). The framework highlighted the importance of governance in complementing essential factors for SEZ success, providing a method to analyze success probability based on the presence and intensity of these factors. While data limitations exist in the project’s early stages, this framework lays the groundwork for evaluating SEZ success as projects progress towards completion.
