ITC e-CO Global Gateway (Data and process flow Modelling expert
To enhance global trade efficiency by developing a standardized electronic Certificate of Origin (e-CO) model that streamlines processes, overcomes legal barriers, and fosters collaboration among developing countries through prioritized Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs).
- Mapped key FTAs/PTAs for eCO exchange, focusing on developing countries.
Identified criteria such as legal frameworks, technical readiness, and trade volumes, using WTO and ITC tools to prioritize relevant agreements. - Reviewed CO provisions in the top 20 FTAs/PTAs, analyzing legal barriers to eCOs, and proposed solutions for overcoming them. Additionally, we reviewed CO templates, evaluated existing eCO initiatives, and developed a standardized data model for the eCO Global Gateway, ensuring alignment with international standards. Findings were documented and validated with stakeholders.
- Based on review of global data model including WTO, UNCEFACT and TIR conventions, a data and business process model was designed for electronic certificate of origins and was named e-COP. This model will facilitate e-CO issuance from a
centralized portal connecting to CBRAs of different countries
