Strengthening Federalism by Eradicating District Disparity—Supporting Economic Corridor Development through Strategic Planning Frameworks
A unique strategic framework designed because of studying feasibility of 9 CPEC focused SEZs in Pakistan, end in the form of an interactive GIS based tool useful for decision making by policy maker. It included decisions consideration on parameters relevant to SEZs like location, status of infrastructure, fiscal incentives, governance etc.
REE, in partnership with ADB worked on “Supporting Economic Corridor Development Through Strategic Planning Frameworks” in which a robust “District Development Monitor (DDM)” was developed for ECD in Pakistan—a dynamic, flexible and real-time updated analytical tool and framework designed to facilitate the Decision Support Systems (DSS) during the various stages of project life cycle including planning, implementation, monitoring, resource allocation, scenario- based analysis, modelling and others, across all the 110 districts of Pakistan.
